Camping, movies and my birthday...

Wednesday was the day L.J. had been waiting for for months. We went to Orlando to see Nick Jr.'s Storytime Live! at the Bob Carr Performing Arts Theater. He loved it and remembered every story they told. His reaction as we were walking out "My favorite part was everything."

Quiet day at home after work. We got some tomatoes from the neighbor so I had them broiled with cheese and basil for dinner.

Friday after school we went over to Mom and Dad's to meet Aunt Barb, Aunt Lisa, Kendall and Gelsey for some swimming and trampolining. Aunt Barb brought cupcakes for my birthday so they sang to me and we ate. That night Mom, Dad, Dave and Janie went with us to Manny's Chophouse to celebrate my birthday a day early.

We started my birthday by going to Titus' 5th birthday party. The kids had fun playing and eating cupcakes. Then we went shopping for me to pick out my new camera...a Canon Powershot SD1300 IS. Next we dropped L.J. off at mom and dad's for a sleepover and went to eat with Jenn and Corey at Jo-To's Japanese Steakhouse. Then we finished up the night by watching the UFC fight at their house with friends.

Jay went fishing on Sunday with the guys to Port Manatee and got rained on the whole time. Since it rained here too, L.J. and I went to see Despicable Me. It was pretty cute.

Tuesday was my first Juniors meeting as President. It went really well and everyone seemed really pumped up about the new year. As a good luck present the past presidents got me a gift card to Starbucks.

Today we practiced reading again...the BOB books are L.J.'s new favorites. They are super easy for him and he loves that he can read a whole book by himself.

Friday was the End of Summer Picnic at school so Jay and I both went to eat with L.J. Then that night we met up with Mom and Dad to go eat at Fred's while Jay took off to Georgia with Corey and Tater.

Saturday L.J. and I went to Fort Desoto with Mom, Dad, Christy, Brian and the boys to camp for the night. We took them over to Shell Key Preserve to play in the waves and look for shells on the beach. While we were there, Jay was checking out a new place to hunt. This place will have an actual house on it soon...woohoo...now I want to go hunting.

Sunday we went back out to fish a little and then found a sandbar that the boys had a blast on. They caught crabs in their nets, ran all over the sandbar and Caleb even caught a trout (that was half alive) that he tried to revive and then wanted to take home. When we got back we all met up at Corey and Jenn's to swim with Gina, Scott and her boys and then went to Jerry and Linda's for dinner.

Monday L.J. got a haircut and we made sure he had all his school supplies ready.

Today Janie picked up L.J. for the last time from preschool while I went to lunch at Louis Pappas and then to see Step Up 3D with Gina. Fun times!!!!

More scalloping...

Today we had a re-check of L.J.'s ears and they did a hearing test again. He passed so no referral is needed.

We met Christy and the boys in Homosassa for the weekend. I got them some chipmunks that I put in the camper for them to find.

A great day of scalloping (even with the storm that came up) followed by dinner at Riverside in Old Homosassa.

We got back pretty early so we went to Corey and Jenn's to swim and eat scallop and shrimp alfredo.

Today we went shopping for elastic waist navy, khaki and denim shorts for L.J. for Kindergarten. It's not easy to find them, but we got enough to start him off for the year.

Tonight was our first Board Meeting of the club year at Crispers and it went pretty well.

We met Tiffany and Cole at Chuck E Cheese today after school and then went to mom's for dinner since the boys were here.

We went to Harrison's Willy Wonka party today with chocolate syrup fights, whipped cream games, a water slide and a candy shoppe where everything was free for the taking. Of course all the kids had a blast. Then while L.J. was at Janie's I met up with Serena, Heather and Leigh at Grillsmith to catch up on old times.

First thing out of the channel this morning, Dad's boat had a broken belt on the motor so we jumped on Corey's boat while they got towed in to fix it. Then they met us at the springs later. We got a ton of scallops and had our limits very quickly.

Sunday the guys went back out to scallop while Jenn, Mom and I took L.J., Kayeleigh and Brooklynn to the pool. Then we all headed home from a great weekend on the water.

L.J. helped me make some mini turkey meatloaves tonight. He loves to crack the eggs and mix it all up. It's one of his specialties.

Jay made it home kinda early tonight so L.J. recruited him to help with the Batman Lego Wii game.

Sebastian, jetpacks and sickies...

Thursday I dropped L.J. off at school, worked and then headed out with Sandra for our trip to Sebastian for the GFWC Florida Juniors Summer Planning meeting. We set up the clubhouse and then ate dinner with Rachel at Squid Lips.

Friday morning after spending the night with his Gram and Daddy Dave it was L.J.'s last day of space week and they made jetpacks with 2 liter bottles. Then Mom picked him up and he went camping with them and Christy and the boys. We spent the day in Vero shopping and then had our first JPC meeting that night followed by a trip to "The Sandbar" for some drinks.

Saturday Jay and Lloyd went down to Homosassa to scallop with all the family. They got several gallons, took a dip in the springs and then went back and swam in the pool. In Sebastian we had a full day of workshops and then went to Vero to have dinner with the Women's Clubs.

Sunday we did a few team-building exercises and then came home. The Homosassa crew went out scalloping again and then came home too. Caleb was sick while they were down there and I had a feeling L.J. might get it.

Today technically started at 12:30 am when L.J. came downstairs covered in vomit. Fun times! I got him cleaned up and back to sleep. I kept him home for the day to make sure he was ok (which he was). We ended up making cookies, alien guts with the kit Aunt Barb bought him and I got a lot of my Juniors work done.

Eclipse Night!!! Tiffany, Madi and I went to Chili's for dinner and then walked around Lakeside waiting for the midnight showing of Eclipse. When we walked in the lines were wrapped all around inside the lobby of the theater but Tiffany jumped us into a group that was being seated and we got in a theater right away. She's such a rule-breaker. The movie was awesome even if I didn't get home until 2:30am.

Today I took L.J. for his first tae kwon do lesson. We are doing the two week trial to see if he likes it. So far, so good. The funny thing that happened was that the class counts in Korean. When it came L.J.'s turn to count through a stretch he started counting in Spanish. It was like he knew it wasn't English they were speaking so he just went with the only other language he knew. Everyone in the class got a good chuckle about it.

Today L.J. had me take a picture of him in front of the flag his class made with handprints so he could show Jay. He was so proud of it.

After school, we went with Mom and Dad up to Homosassa to camp and scallop for the weekend. L.J. and Dad got in the pool at the campground and we cooked out while we waited for Jay to get there.

First day of scalloping in 2010. We had a blast out on the water diving for scallops followed by a trip to the freezing cold springs. While at the springs the rain started so we spent the rest of the evening back at the campground. Jay, Dad and Corey cleaned all the scallops from the day.

Independence Day - After a morning breakfast at the campground clubhouse we all headed back out to get more scallops. Then we came back and went to eat at Riverside while the kids at the dock cleaned our scallops. We finished off the night with L.J., Brooklynn and Haleigh lighting sparklers and eating 4th of July cookies at the campground.

The guys went back out for a few more hours of scalloping before we all packed up and came home. Mom and Dad decided to leave the camper for the month so we could continue to go back.

Tuesday L.J. went to his first Campfire Twilight camp night. He had a breakdown at the beginning because I was leaving him there, but they said he calmed down when I left and enjoyed the night all about Hawaii. They had Polynesian chicken, Paradise Fruit and Tropical Rice. Cole was there so he had a buddy. Tiffany and I went to eat at Ruby Tuesdays and then did a little shopping while they were there. When we went back to pick them up they both loved showing off what they made.

The preschool was closed this week so L.J. spent yesterday and today with Mom. They went shopping and he ended up with a new Rocket.

Thursday he spent the day with Janie and they went to Backyard Adventures and McDonalds. I spent the afternoon doing laundry...ugh!

Friday we had a playdate with the Roths and Hulses. We started the day all dressing like cows for Chick-Fil-A's Cow Appreciation Day. After our free lunches and some playtime there we headed downtown to Explorations V. Then we got a little treat at Dairy Queen and finished up with some Wii time at the Roths. Later that night Jay, L.J. and I went to Homosassa with Dad's boat for the weekend.

It was a great day on the water scalloping and napping on the boat. We also went to the springs and then back to the campground for the night.

Sunday we were lazy in the morning and I went to get us breakfast that we ate in the camper. Then we packed everything up and left the campground just as it started to pour. We came back and met Mom and Dad in Bartow for dinner for their anniversary.

Monday we cooked up the scallops from the weekend for dinner after tae kwon do. We decided to finish out the trial period and then start him with it in September.

Twilight camp again at Campfire and another crying episode when I dropped him off. Tonight was Louisiana night so they made mardi gras masks and ate sausage with red beans and rice. Tiffany, Madi and I went to Chicanos for dinner and then shopped. Once again when I picked him up he couldn't stop talking about how much fun he had and how he wanted to go back. Yay!

Today I cleaned up the house which meant putting away the lego building L.J. and I created the other day. He decided to try and recreate it upstairs and called me up there to help. When I couldn't get it exactly like it was the other day he got upset and I came back downstairs. He came down and wanted a piece of paper and was writing on it. Then he asked me how to spell "stairs" and proceeded to go tape this sign on the wall at the top of the stairs. If I can't build legos right I'm not allowed up there....LOL!!!!!

After dinner we celebrated National Ice Cream Day with sundaes with lots of toppings...yum!!!
